#ProjectForeverBody - My Top 5 Healthy Holiday Tips

I know what you’ll say but you need to relax on holiday and take a break, and yes your right you do but you can still make healthy choices! I’m not saying don’t smash that burger and chips with a fizzy drink but maybe have a glass of water with it too and a side salad, being on holiday doesn’t mean you have to lose your way in your healthy lifestyle.

PUT WATER WITH EVERYTHING
Want a cocktail or two by the pool? Go for it but in between those cocktails have a pint or two of water, ensuring your body is continuously hydrated will ensure you don’t get sun stroke and won’t dehydrate your body from the inside out.

GO FOOD EASY
Just because you’ve gone all inclusive doesn’t mean you have to eat every morsel in sight, only eat as much as you would at home and only when you’re hungry. Most of the time we eat because were bored not because were hungry, so try having a glass of water when you’re hungry and if you’re still hungry after about 20 minutes then have a snack or meal.

STAY SUN SAFE
I don’t know how many ‘brits abroad’ I see burnt to a crisp because they haven’t taken care of their skin. Don’t be one of these British Lobsters, apply sun cream 15-20 minutes before you leave your room this will ensure it is absorbed by your skin, and continuously reapply throughout the day. Always wear a hat or stay in the shade between 12pm-3pm this is the hottest and most dangerous point of the day for sunstroke and burning.

STAY ACTIVE
From the minute you get to the airport to the minute you return, stay active and move that butt! Waiting to board your flight? Don’t just sit there have a walk around the airport. Bored by the pool? Get your trainers on and go explore! Bored in the pool? Get swimming, if you’re holidaying with your partner have some fun and race each other. Don’t be a lizard, get that heart rate up.

EVENING STRETCH
All that basking in the sun can be tiring but that doesn’t mean you should neglect your joints, in the evenings make sure you take 10 – 20 minutes to either do some Yoga, Pilates or even just some basic stretching, this will make sure that your joints stay supple and if you do some energetic activity the next day it won’t be such a shock to your body.
