Eating Healthy | The Season Transition

Its getting colder and portion sizes are getting bigger ... yeah I know your doubling up, I see you. I know it's hard to stay healthy as the season moves into the colder months but it's so easy to plan ahead and make it easier to stay healthy! So today I'm going to give you my top tips on staying healthy and maybe even give you a couple of links to my fav recipes.

Tried anything veggie or vegan? Veggie or Vegan meals are a great way of getting to eat loads of food without half the fat content! You get more volume for less calories.

Try to incorporate water into every day life, like hot drinks? Have one cup of water for evert hot drink you have. And have a glass before you go to bed and right when you wake up. It'll do wonders for your skin, body and mind.

Instead of having highly caffeinated drinks try herbal teas, I personally have a mug of Mint Tea every morning at work to kick start the day and really get my body and mind moving.

Try to incorporate loads of foods that are high in Vitamin D, your body misses out on this essential vitamin in the winter so making sure you get enough through your food is so vital.

Watch your portion sizes. It is very tempting to snack on foods, eat a large plate of food and seconds, when you are indoors all evening.

Include Garlic. Garlic is a great disease fighter as well as adding flavour to meals and food. Garlic will give the most benefit to your immune system when chopped and then left to stand for 10-15 minutes before adding to the pan.

Adding a bit of spice to your food can give you all the warming feeling of eating a higher carb meal but also give you flavour and give your taste buds something different too!

Eat Plenty of Fruit & Vegetables. Top up your immune system by eating antioxidant-containing fruit and vegetables. Choose fruits and vegetables that are in season such as mandarin, apples, grapefruit, broccoli, brussel sprouts, carrots, cauliflower and potatoes. Make the most of frozen and canned fruits, which are readily available, and cheaper, at this time of year.

The cold weather and long nights can increase the temptation to comfort eat in the winter. Resist the urge but if you are really hungry between meals, try a cup of homemade vegetable soup or a bowl of stewed fruit to fill the gap.

Don’t be afraid of using frozen vegetables – they are sometimes more nutritious than fresh and will last well in the freezer so there’s no waste.

What are your top tips for eating healthy this Autumn Winter?

#MyNakedFace | Loving Your Skin

Today's post is very different, it's to be quite short and very self orientated but it's something that I think everyone should learn to do.

This is my naked skin selfie, this was taken on holiday in Lloret De Mar (Costa Brava, Spain) with not a scrap of make up on just a bit of sun protection (literal bedhead post sea air hair and all) and it's my bravest photo I've ever posted because I'm showing you, the world, me. The real honest true me and all my imperfections and how proud of them I am because they've made me who I am and the person I am, there what make people love me for me.

Looking through all my social media platforms all I see is perfect skin, perfect hair, perfect makeup, and most of the time it's all been either photoshopped or it's tones and tones of makeup which does look incredible but it's not the real you. I've learnt to embrace my naked skin and all the imperfections that come with it so, from today I want YOU to embrace your naked skin and show me the real you. I want YOU to show the world what your made of and how you rock your naked skin.

I want to see the real YOU.

Show me your #MyNakedFace selfie!

L'Oreal Paris True Match The One Concealer

L'Oreal Paris True Match The One Concealer

Well hello hello, L'Oreal Paris have launched a new concealer and I've had to get my hands on it to try! So today I'm going to give you all my honest thoughts on the latest product to hit my makeup bag, the L'Oreal Paris True Match The One Concealer

The true match concealer has been created to correct the skin tone, conceal any imperfections and hide the signs of fatigue all in the sweep of your magic wand! The concealer is enriched with caffeine so when applied and blended into the skin it instantly brightens the eye area and over time helps to fight dark circles! It blends out so easily with either a beauty blender/brush or even the warmth from your fingers.

This is a super lightweight concealer that has a medium coverage on first application but this does mean that you can build up the coverage over any areas that may need a bit more coverage. The wand is not like the usual L'Oreal products as it's much smaller and it's flat! I know right, completely flat as a pancake but this does mean that you can just cover a whole area in one simple swipe. There's no settling in fine lines or creasing once set and it lasts, personally, for the 9 till 5 shift but does need a top up after!

Will you be trying the new L'Oreal Concealer?

Yes, this should of gone up yesterday but I was enjoying the sunshine ... so here we are. The first and best step in my morning skincare routine is the Elemis Superfood Facial Oil, and with the current heat my skin is drinking this up!

Using 1-2 drops of the superfood oil I drop these into the palm of my hand, warm it up between my hands and press it into and all over my skin yes face and neck, never neglect your neck. This oil is so nourishing on the skin that it starts to perk your skin up within a few days and really enhances your glow factor, plus it starts to hydrate and nourish from day one. The natural blend of highly concentrated superfoods deeply nourishes with Anti-oxidant and omega-rich Broccoli, Flax Seed and Daikon Radish feed the skin, helping to plump and smooth.

It's super lightweight, non-greasy and easily absorbed, this oil will leave your skin balanced and refreshed every day. It's also great for starting to heal old spots, I've found that it's helped to heal any spots I've had once they've had there moment. It helps to repair the skin's natural balance and keeps it looking young and refreshed!
