Learning To Be Alone

One thing I've learnt since moving out last year was that you learn to value and appreciate your alone time and that's not saying it's an easy thing to do, or you'll love being alone straight away because it does take time and a lot of getting used too but in the long run it's so worth it. Today I wanted to talk to you about how to be alone and how to get used to the idea of being alone

At first it's scary, and that's understandable but after a while it doesn't seem so scary.

You have to learn to love your own company, and until you move out and are on your own a lot then you don't realise your own company.

You learn to appreciate the quiet, when I've finished a full week at work and have been running around like a mad woman there is nothing i love more than a Friday or Saturday night in on my own having an absolute pamper.

Music will become your best friend, it will help ease the complete silence that sometimes frightens the life out of you when something falls and makes a bang but also comforts you when you need it.

Pamper nights will become even more luxurious and you'll take time in pampering yourself and caring for yourself.

You'll slowly and without realising learn to value company and your alone time!! Sometimes it's nice to have the place to yourself

Decorating when Renting | Adulting 101

Renting, it's all fun and games until you have to adult and make decisions on which gas provider your going with, trying to use minimum water and electric to keep the bills down but there is one huge advantage to renting .... 90% of places will already be painted white! So it doesn't matter what your interior style is like you can just move in and accessorise the place up. Today I wanted to talk to you and show you how to style up a place with minimum effort using your bigger pieces to your advantage

Light colours will always make a place look bigger, so even if you prefer darker colours like purple for example try adding lighter whites or greys in with it to add contrast.

If you prefer to stick to one colour tone, try to add in more textures to keep it interesting and to make it not look so blended together.

DIY / Couponing pages will become your best friend, for those higher end pieces or looks without the higher end price tag!!

If you struggle with home decor, like me, or just can't seem to piece together a room how you envisaged it to look hit up Pintrest when your shopping and refer to your board for inspiration!

Utilizing Instagram for some major home crushing will also help you to see things from stores you might not necessarily shop at or think of when it comes to home decor!

And those stick on wall hangers will be your bestest friend for your photos/frames.

Talk to your Landlord / Landlady too, they might be flexible when it comes to decorating. For example, they might be happy for you to make that wall a feature wall as long as you put it back to it's original state when you leave.

Think cosy too, even though your renting and you make the place your own it can still feel a little cold, try to add in smaller cosy pieces to give the place a more homily feel.

What are your top tips for decorating whilst renting?

2018 | Make It Your Best Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR YOU BEAUTIFUL BUNCH! So I know towards the end of last year I was a rubbish blogger, life gave me lemons and I threw the lemons at a wall. So this year I want to make a #BloggerPromise to try and post regularly and keep on top of the blogging!
So today to kick start the year lets run through my top tips on how to make this the start of your best years!!
You've got another 365 chances to make your year  even better!

Instead of being disappointed about where you are think optimistically about where you are going. Creating a positive out of everything will do will really help you to stay in a good mindset when things go wrong.

Believe that everything happens for a reason, expect good things to come out of challenging experiences.

Try and stick to a routine, for example when I come in from work I cleanse my skin and then do my skincare. 1 to give it time to sink in and 2 the routine makes me feel accomplished and like I can get more out of my evening.

If you want a new years resolution you can stick to try this one, every single day smile at one person - A genuine real smile, just smile at one person every single day.

You'll try and kick start your healthy diet and try eating a trillion different fruits and veggies  a day, instead try Veganuary or try adding one vegetable everyday to one meal and you'll be surprised at the difference so little can do.

If your one of these people to make goals list and forget about it then try making a new goals list and make it achievable. Smaller goals are much easier than 'save £25K by July'

How To Prepare For The Holiday Season As A Blogger

The festive season is in full swing, with some of us getting snow! We've had about a foot in good old Coventry and it hasn't stopped, remember to always drive slowly in the snow!!!!
So today I wanted to share with you my top tips on how to prepare for the holiday season as a blogger.

Plan ahead and take your photos at the weekend, we all know the dark evening struggle for bloggers

Try to make your posts festive, even if that is just adding the word 'Christmas' in here and there.

Make the most of the snow if you have any! Bloggers posts in the snow is a standard and makes your blog even more fun.

If you struggle to write your posts try doing a little every evening, and write two posts a week - that way you'll always be prepared!

Struggling with ideas? Pinterest is the source of all fabulously festive ideas!!

Add reminders to your calendar for a certain time everyday that you can dedicate to a kick ass Instagram.
